So what we’re saying here is that this isn’t about protecting copyrighted ideas, for the sake of ‘‘justice’’ or doing the right thing.
For Hasbro, Disney etc it’s about their money and their image. For them it has nothing to do with being morally correct, it’s just business.
Member the “Twilight fanficalipse” where the author was going nuclear because people where posting fanfic online? If I remember correctly there was even some law suiting.

There is also the “NOU” card, ie when Hasbro struck Fighting is Magic it got even more powerful then before, that guy that got C&D because of button smash also got a lot more traction right after the strick.
while it is technically copyright infringement and they can sue you for it, they tend not to bother because the amount of money they will get from it is nothing as they have lost no money from it existing.
they might get some money from a lawsuit if you try to sell your fanfiction (or make any sort of money from it like patron) but the bad press from a lawsuit (and the little money they get from it) would probably make them reconsider
not to mention that fighting fan content is like battling the imperial guard “for every one of us who falls, ten more will take his place”
Edited because: last sentence
Intellectual property is a pretty difficult subject. There’s limits to how far you can stretch your authority over what you own, that’s why we have fair use.
I mean, how crazy is it to copyright the Happy Birthday song!
One could argue that selling fan merch is bootlegging too least all profit goes to
(((Hasbro)))From uploading episodes to YouTube to live streaming them, you name it
Posts image macros trying to shame other fans.
Eat shit.
(I buy the season on DVD every year, too, so it’s not like they don’t get my money, it’s just delayed.)
No blu-rays,DVDs and Netflix are behind, Amazon prime doesn’t let you buy season 1 2 3 and is also one season behind
