Wait, That’s not happened yet? Fandom is getting sloppy
Eh, fair enough, I guess.
Ty on the second part. On the first part, as I said I personally see sci-twi and Sunset as secondary characters, I didn’t say they weren’t.
Uhm, EqG treats those two (Sunset and Sci-Twi) as Main Characters.
As for the ship names, “Flashimmer” and “Timbertwi” is how the ships are tagged here at least.

On the one about Flashset and Timberlight (those are the names I gave them, I don’t know if those are the actual fan shipping name or not) to me, Sunset Shimmer and Sci-Twi are secondary characters… Neither one has seen much character development. Namely how Sunset is supposed to be reformed, but yet still has a lot of anger.
Oh, well, glad to hear that.
Wait, so you’re not comfortable with ships like Rarijack, but you’re okay with Flashimmer and Timbertwi as you’ve posted here? ‘cause see, that’s what comes off like homophobia. There’s a clear double-standard there.
Possibly so, but I still hold hope that they might do more someday, and potentially canonize it with no room for doubt.
As I said, the EqG versions of Lyra and Bon Bon. However, with what you said, I see your point. I guess I’m more comfortable having shippings of secondary and/or bg characters than I am of main characters (I feel it takes away from the story of EqG to have a main character fall in love.) but as we’ve discussed, both shippings will probably be brushed aside by Hasbro as nothing more than friendships.
Case in point, then: How are Lyra and Bon-Bon any different from Applejack and Rarity at this point? They both address each other as “Best Friend” while giving each other “special looks” that scream romantic context. How come you view one as obviously romantic, but the other as platonic, when there’s so many similarities between the two pairs now?
Hey, I was merely giving my own opinion. I also fail to see how me believing this is nothing more than a friendshipping makes me seem homophobic. In fact, I thought a lot from our last discussion and also came up with a wag they could have a homosexual character in the show (I’ll write that up tomorrow.) and I believe that Lyra and Bon Bon are a lesbian couple in EqG.
I don’t follow Ace Attorney.
And I’ve presented my argument here: >>1774677.
Simply put, I know there’s no kiss on the lips nor declaration of “I love you”, and that they often reiterate the phrase “best friend”, but I find that to be far more because of limitations imposed by Hasbro than because the writers didn’t want to. The overall special is loaded with romantic connotations, the blushing, the body language, the hand holding, the lyrics to the ending song, even the shots are often presented in ways that are often used for couples. That’s without mentioning how the whole arc between them plays a lot like a romantic one.
Two friends that have feelings for each other but neither has come out on it, then a third party comes into play that captures the attention of one of them, prompting the other to become jealous. The jealous one then realizes the third party is not trustworthy and tells their love interest as much, but this causes the tension between them to escalate further, only for the truth to shine right after and the would-be couple to make up and finally get together, reinvigorating each other in order to save the day.
It’s a classic formula used for romance.
I know the way it’s played, it can be read as just a platonic relationship. I’m aware there’s nothing that makes it explicitly romantic. But I simply find it way too far fetched that all the romantic connotations thrown in there are just a coincidence, and I firmly believe that it was all intentional. That if they could, and weren’t oppressed by politics and other metrics, the writers would totally canonize Rarijack in the most unquestionable manner possible.
If you personally prefer to see them as just friends, that’s valid of you. I personally find it quite homophobic, but if that’s how you chose to be, then that’s your choice, not mine. I would advice you, however, to quit showing up on pictures like this, where fans like me are celebrating the Rarijack content, to just rain on people’s parades, because that’s quite the jerkass thing to do.
I don’t. I’m just saying that’s what they are implying here. My opinion is also backed up by the fact that they refereed to each other as best friends, and the fact they never uttered the words “I love you!”. If You’re going to make a statement, make sure you have an ironclad base… Think of how Phoenix Wright is such a great attorney.
And that’s your experience. What makes you think they all are just the same?
I’m just saying. I graduated high school this year, and there were girls who treated their friends (me for example) like how Rarity and Applejack are in this special.(They only saw me as a friend, btw.) And if you were to ask/call the girls that did this that they were lesbian… You’d either get slapped or laughed at by them.
Arrogant of you to assume such.
What I’m saying is basically anyone who says this is a romantic shipping has no idea what teenage girls are like.
Sure sounds like it, if you feel like the only way someone can see this as romantic is by either being LGBT or dirty-minded, which may I say, is a very toxic grouping to make.
No.
So the idea of empathy is just alien to you?
Perfect:) Rarijack in love!
