Is (officially) the ruler of the Crystal Empire (I’ll probably change the name later since that’s literally the same as G4), but everyone considers her the Princess of Love, since she basically spends all of her time spreading love throughout ponykind.
Does not have any children as of now.
Despite being the literal princess of love, she’s been pretty unlucky with love herself. She’s had many colt/ marefriends, but she hasn’t found The One, yet.
Is a thousand years old (about 700 years older than Twi)
Is the eldest daughter of Celestia and Sombra and the older sister of Twilight.

Princess Twilight:
She’s officially known as the Princess of Magic, and she’s written many spells/ saved Equestria with her magical talents (Basically she’s Starswirl The Bearded lol)
Does not have any children yet.
Has a crush on the captain of the Royal Guard (NOT Shining Armour! A different pony).
Is 300 years old, making her the youngest princess (hence why she doesn’t have flowy magical hair yet, just normal hair)
Is the youngest daughter of Celestia and Sombra, and the younger sister to Cadence.

On their designs:

So… I really went all out on this one XD I almost completely redesigned them, but not so much that you can’t tell who it is in G4.

Cadence… was probably the one that was changed the most XD I’ve never been a fan her G4 design, so this one… is a little more romantic I guess? Like, when you see her you know that she’s the princess of love…. What with all the roses and everything XD
Her accessories consist of roses, vines and gold jewellery.
And her colours are basically pink, red, green and gold.

Twilight’s also quite different too, especially with her mane. It’s completely different in colour (it was inspired by a twilight sky picture I found), but the hair do pretty much the same, all strait and proper (Except maybe that it’s long). As mentioned before, her hair isn’t flowy yet because that doesn’t develop till your 500 yrs old.
Her coat is darker with purple, flame-like accents on her wings.
She’s got very simple jewellery too, mostly consisting of beaded jewellery and pale gold horseshoes.

And, just a little note, every pony in G5 has an eye shine that corresponds with their CM :3

This started off as a contest prompt, but I think I’ll actually be expanding upon this later, when I have the time :> 
 
So, basically, this was a contest for drawing G4 ponies as G5 ponies (contest can be found here: fav.me/dcxg415 ), and here’s the other 2! I chose the 4 main princesses of G4 to start off with, but there will be more original characters for G5 coming soon when I make it :3 
 
The G5 style is basically mine but fluffier XD
