Your point was correct. You were only arguing against my claim of them being the elements, not the claim that this doesn’t make EQG canon, so I didn’t mention it.
Also, I have a life, and I have 3D models I need to make if I want to finish this game so you humans can play it instead of arguing

Actually it doesn’t confirm it as canon, because alternate universes can have similarities without being the same universe. Look at the series sliders.

No, the Elements contain power in themselves. They are connected to the Mane Six, but that doesn’t mean the ponies are the elements.

The power of the Elements ultimately comes from the Tree of Harmony. In the normal usage, the power flow is Tree -> Elements -> Mane Six. In Tirek’s case, they took a new route, but still the same source and destination: Tree -> Rainbow Power -> Mane Six.

First off, no, in EQG they DID have the elements. Twilight took the power from the Crown. They then got power from music. They then got power from tiny stones.

Second, when are you people going to realize that the Mane6 ARE the elements, the living embodiments of the elements. That is why not much changed when they had to return the ‘elements’ back to the tree. Those stones are just channels in which the elements flow. Even in EQG this is true. The elements can flow directly from the Mane6 without a mediator because the Mane6 ARE the elements.

This is further confirmed in 2 places. First, they also did not have the ‘elements’ when they destroyed Tirek.
Second, when the Mean6 tried to take the elements, they couldn’t, because the elements are only compatible with their own physical embodiment. Anything else that touches or tries to use them goes to shit. Celestia is the only exception in this, but it is assumed that she was the full embodiment of the Elements for a long time before the Tree chose the Mane6.

On a more personal note, stop screaming “EQG confirmed canon” like its a new and unpopular thing. It was confirmed canon by the show staff a few years ago. This routine of you freaking out about something several years old just shows that you are either out of touch with modern MLP stuff or that you are a child and can’t let things go. It’s canon. So what? Cool. I actually like EQG, doesn’t make any difference.

And no, they are not making a Heart shape, they are making the shape of a 6 sided hexagon
They have been doing this since Discord’s defeat:

They have always done this when using the Elements of Harmony:

So if anything it is the staff of Equestria Girls making sure there is consistency with the show.

I don’t think that’s the main point here. It’s rather that they’re doing it WITHOUT the Elements of Harmony. The only time this has ever happened is in Equestria Girls. Even in the S4 finale they got the Rainbow Power from that chest.

@Saphire Systrine
So. They are using the magic of the elements of harmony WITHOUT the elements, just like the first EQG.
EQG was confirmed canon AGAIN and all the EQG haters will deny this irrefutable proof AGAIN
