Only thing I find unforgivable is that Dash not knowing who Miyazaki is. I’d imagine she’d be exposed to at least one Miyazaki film.

It’s very much a “your milage may vary” kind of thing but yeah, it might be because I’m an uncultured American but I recognize more English VAs whereas anyone not in my native language (and in some cases including my native language) tend to sound the same.

“Subs are always better than dubs”
 
My main issue with this phrase is that with subs, I have to focus on reading the words and my attention is mostly set doing that, leaving me little time to enjoy or observe the quality of the animation and I can’t really get a full experience because of that. I prefer dubs because besides allowing me to actually understand what they’re saying without reading subtitles, I can actually put effort into observing character design, sets, animation quality, and I don’t have to dedicate significant time that I don’t have a lot of anymore to watch something. I usually have a show or movie playing in the background while I’m working on something.
 
And there are a lot more legitimately good dubs nowadays. Among my favorites are Case Closed/Detective Conan, Code Geass, Bleach, Funimation Once Piece (though I find the 4kids version to be so bad it’s good), and Dragon Ball Z Abridged which might as well be an official dub by this point, I don’t care what you say. We’re past the age of shotty dubs and while that doesn’t mean there aren’t anymore, anime dubbing is taken a lot more seriously.

That’s all right, nobody really does. We just say we do so that we can seem cultured.

I don’t like Miyazaki films.

I can honesty only count on one hand where voice acting in something has ever bothered me much that I got angry. That said I never mind waiting for dubs and prefer them but don’t lord liking them over anyone. If it’s more entertaining for you with subs that’s fine and shouldn’t be made a big deal. If you like dubs then that should also not be a big deal.

Not a real fan? A fan by definition is someone who likes a certain type of content. By that definition, we’re ALL “REAL FANS”.

Observation:  
“The manga is better” as a general rule is only useful in equal proportion to the amount of anime you consume. If you’re the kind of casual fan that only goes out of their way to watch anime if it’s really good, it’s hit or miss.

I unironically prefer dubs.

If you are a true fan, you will read the light novel and the manga, and also watch the anime both in Japanese and dubbed in your native language. Then you will write fan fiction and make art to contribute to the fandom.

This is all accurate information about these two.

The manga is always better!

Manga is for casuals. Real fans get their stories directly from the author’s brain, by kidnapping them, chaining them to a bed in a secluded cabin, making them narrate their sordid shonen-ai fantasies in person, then killing them so you’ll be the only one who ever got to experience their masterpiece.

Looks less like hating and more that casual anime fans only know about Crunchyroll or more well known anime like GS.

Why do you hate Crunchyroll and Goblin Slayer? Also, why have a Crunchyroll subscription if you are just going to wait for the dub?
