That’s literally the only difference though. Otherwise, the images are basically identical (both have sweet smiles, blushes, floating hearts, and an zoom-in on their hands).

I think they’re both on purpose, they’re just being cheeky with each other.
 
RD’s appearance doesn’t suggest that. AJ has that anime cross shaped annoyance mark on her cheek.

The joke is, probably, that RD is giving her the finger on accident, AJ purposefully.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I feel like Dash mucked up making a heart with her hands, and AJ interpreted that as Dash flippin’ her off, so she’s struggling to not return the ill-perceived gesture.
