First time reading this, I didn’t notice the pegasi were actually holding up the plane. Wow. That’s a ridiculous way to close out what’s supposed to be a serious comic.

Unlike chariots, planes are unneceserly heavy. It is like instead of making 2 horses pull a caravane, you make them pull a bus.
Long story short, while pegasi in MLP universe have a lot of power behind their flight, they are still more into speed rather than strength. (They are smaller and lighter, but at the same time they can’t generate power that large heavy plane engines can). Making them carry several tons of metal rather than light chariot is counterproductive. (If you want to transport numberous ponies, this is where ballons and blimps come into play).
GO, GIRLS! SAVE TWILIGHT, CELESTIA, LUNA, AND APPLEJACK! Oh, and Equestria. What?! Just because the characters get caught (or possessed) on a regular basis, doesn’t mean we can’t worry about them.
Wait, is this the first time that the phrase “horse apples” has actually been used in an official source? I see it all the time in fanfic, but I didn’t expect it to get past Hasbro.
engines generate speed, lift is generated by plANE’S wings.
Planes are light when they are moving.
is totally possible for pegasi to lift one.

CARLOS!
Still have no interest. Even with its newfound meme status.
Ah. Well I never saw that movie.
He’s referring to the “Bee Movie”
Where did you hear that?
That dump actually has an airport? Or do they just give you a parachute and toss you out the door?

It was used in the “Fall Weather friends” episode before, just once.

If anything, this makes more sense then the chariots. At least planes have wings to help generate lift.
