This was basically my reaction to this IRL when if G4 ends and G5 begins ill flip my shit.
When I first saw these leaks I said to myself “Naaah THIS HAS TO BE A TROLL!!” and then they confirmed that Season 9 is last and I said to myself again “Nope, I still ain’t buying it.” but then when I saw the trailer this was basically my reaction here

So the most likely year that G5 will be out is like in between 2025-2030?
…you do realize mlp first came out in 1984, right? there has been a new generation every 9 years on average, even when they were terrible and unpopular. every 7 years, if you count 3.5 as a generation. the biggest gap between toy lines has been five years. g3.5 ended a year before g4.
G5 has been in the works for at least a couple of years, and will likely be released in the next two. We know because there was a huge leak after someone hacked into Hasbro’s servers and stole a ton of data, which included information pertaining to it.
Well most people would rant all about it and will immediately force the producers to reboot it again
I mean, how tf did Ben 10 and Powerpuff Girls even reboot for no reason at all (wait a minute goddamnit cartoon network you tricked me)
I’ll say fifteen or so years in the future MLP will come back as a meme and as a new generation of ponies and shite (like you said: generation 5)

The effort that would have to go into faking such a massive amount of exclusive show-quality content is borderline impossible. You might as well believe the Earth is flat and the government has been successfully lying about it for centuries.
Yes, because a corporation is going to A) Admit they got hacked and sensitive data was stolen. And B) Confirm said information is correct and that one of their biggest, most successful IPs to date is about to get shitcanned and rebooted. I’m sure that wouldn’t have affected Hasbro’s stocks at all.
Now, it’s usually a good idea to be skeptical of leaks these days, but in this case the leak was more of a flood. It was loads of files. Very, VERY sensitive files, some of which were never meant for the public to ever see (including the original show bible and pitch document by Faust herself.) There were also a dozen emails between known staff at Hasbro/DHX discussing their plans, a timetable which included both known and unannounced projects (that were officially announced later), loads of concept art for G5, and the biggest proof that everything was legit: Multiple future episodes that were in various stages of completeness (one lacked music, one lacked final dialog mix, and a few partial episodes.) These hadn’t even been announced at that point.
So there was more than enough in the leak to prove it was 100% genuine. And as time has progressed and everything else was shown to be legit, you couldn’t deny it any further.
I think that will depend on how good G5 is good. If it’s inadequate then yes we will become like transformer fans. XD

Unfortunately that didn´t help G4.
Concept art followed by plans discussed in multiple emails about what they were going to do. Oh yeah, and a literal timeline graph which showed their plans for the franchise, which laid out that season 9 would be the last with G5 starting up afterwards. So no, plans were firmly in place already.

See response above. Derpibooru started banning people for posting the leaked documents so I won’t be doing that, but otherwise I’d post the timeline that was included in the files that clearly outlined when G4 would end, and how G5 would replace it. That same timeline also included the release of the movie, the EQG shorts, and other smaller projects.
You guys seem to be in semi-denial mode. The end of G4 and its replacement at the hands of G5 was planned literally years ago at this point. Telling yourselves anything else will change nothing.
