The pregnancy was treacherous. When the doctors told Twilight she was pregnant with triplets, she knew it was going to be tiring. But….she had never felt so….dead. Perhaps her body knew before it was shown, but the birth of the foals opened her eyes and acknowledged the fear that had been festering in her for years. One unicorn. Velvet. One Pegasus. Comet. And….Wisteria. The alicorn. During the entire pregnancy, Twilight felt monumentally depressed and suicidal. But the birth of the foals was long and exhausting and painful. The bright lights shone over Twilight’s face as she saw Comet and Velvet taken away. A nurse walked up to Twilight’s bedside.  
“Uhm, princess? Do you wish to hold your child?” The nurse holding her child asked. Twilight, looking away hesitated.  
“….No.” The nights passed as the figure’s words echoed in Twilight’s mind.“I wish for you to have a successor. That alicorn will live forever, watching everyone around her die slowly.”Twilight wished to play no part in it. The weeks passed and Twilight ignored the foal she birthed out of fear and empty sadness. She did not wish to acknowledge the figure’s curse. She was not going to contribute to a psychopath’s legacy.
