Well, since some human movie is officially out today, I have this piece to commemorate it. Featuring Flash, Sunset, Twilight and Trash BagTree Stump Timber Spruce.
@Background Pony #61BF
Human Flash has an established, canon lack of character.
Pony Flash is a blank slate, so one can turn him into anything they want, because he has no established canon character.
What I like with Timber Spruce and SciTwi is that both of them are total dorks, which compliment each other nicely. Timber tells forced jokes, and Scitwi had this aura of that nerdy girl that is loved by everyone, but had a very strange humour. Something about those two together just clickes with me.
@Background Pony #F1DB
I kinda disagree; between Flash and Timber, Timber had the most interaction with either Twilight.
Flash and Princess Twilight had a lot of bump-in meet-cutes and are clearly hardcore crushing on each other. It’s adorable and we love them for that. Timber and SciTwi share interests and have chemistry with each other, while also hardcore crushing on each other.
At least this time they gave Flash more interactions. He feels left out and down with having lost Princess Twilight and Sunset helps him move past it, kind of. I feel like they’re kind of setting up Flash and Sunset possibly getting back together but I won’t hold my breath.
@Meanlucario
Novelization says he’s a teen. Even then, visually, he looks like he’s only a year or two older than the CHS group. In any anime, he’d qualify as a senpai.
@judacris
Wholeheartedly agreed. Timber is an overall better character in Flash. He has more stakes in the overall plot with him trying to help his sister and I did find it interesting that he always wanted to live in the city. But as a love interest? He’s worse. Even more so than Flash, his scenes with Sci-Twi felt unnecessary and somehow less subtle. At least with Flash, it took two scenes before they started blushing and getting all smitten. They literally could pulled every Timberlight scene (Except for the scene where he talks about wanting to live in the city) and the movie would’ve been much better. It doesn’t help that the movie throws Flash further and further into the background.
@Chuy-kun
Official stance: I don’t necessarily “hate” Timber. I’m not keen on the fact they had to draw up a romantic interest for SciTwi. They could’ve killed FlashSciTwi without the need for Timber. How did our smart cookie fall flat to some guy she just met?
Did you check the link I responded with?

Not really, most people just can’t read between the lines:

I don’t get it. Is’t lack of character the biggest problem with Human Flash?
Too busy building that dock.
Seriously, they got all that water at the camp made it seem like they’d engage in water activities.
I’ve always been more inclined to Pony Flashlight, since Pony Flash hasn’t got an established character.

Also, isn’t Timber a grown adult?

Heartily agreed.
Well, she is a version of Twilight.
Can’t tell if serious or trolling.
@judacris
Let’s agree that the show/staff can’t do romance, and it’s up to us to make them work.
I guess, in the same way that the other smart cookie falls flat to some guy she just met
Do you still support any form of Flashlight? I still like your pictures, I’m just curious where you stand on one of my favorite ships.
Thank you!

Wait, you’re DM29/Julian Yeo? Love your work.
