In my head cannon, she be adopted when she a little, her mother and her Father a be kill by bad pony’s,and those bad pony a destroy all the egg’s but one a be safe and Tia a take care her and rise her, Tia a put the killers in jail for murder, the leader of the clan of Snake-pony be happy those murder be capture but he not be sure of Celestia will rise the baby, Celestia say she want to do it, put those murder in jail don’t stop the feeling of fail this baby, so the leader be ok but Celestia do wait the baby be born and be got her name by the leader of the clan, and be Call Reada, but Tia Nike name her Bella, Bella is the name she give her, this is why her name is Reada Bella, Celestia a learn the snake pony dont eat pony but eat only some small animal or medium animal but plant too, can eat cake and all pony can eat, Celestia a be good mother figure for Reada bella, and she love her mommy Alicon and she hug like the picture, want be a big girl and go rise her own famile, she have 24 kid but only Kalianne love the story of alicorn and how her mother a be safe by Alicorn, for most Snake pony, Celestia is a Goddess of the sun and she give justice and safety for their kind against those who want destroy them, First most of them believe Alicorn are only a legend but alter be safe by one, the snake warship her like a goddess, this is why is a Celestia statue in their town on honor of their savior, Kalianne love to meet Celestia, so she go to the equestia to meet Celestia but she not only finally meet her but she fond Twilight and she want be Friend with her but poor Twilight be with a snake pony, Twilight don’t know Snake pony don’t eat pony, she only know what the legend say of them, but she learn by Celestia what she need to know, Kalianne say she the daughter of Reada bella, Celestia be Surprise to meet her grant daughter from her adopted child, Celestia a tell Twilight to good care Kalianne and Kalianne know Twilight a fear snake and she want to help her to over come this fear…Poor Twilight, but the good part is Twilight can learn of their culture!

Heh, I have kirin fur and hair as actually being an extension of the scales underneath. It was something that surprised my readers, but for the most part it’s going over well. :)

Why not like griffons where they just transition from feathers to fur? That’s how lamias are generally shown, sometimes they have some scaled patches still though

Their scales do cover their whole bodies, but the scales become so long and thin above their waist that they’re indistinguishable from the coat of fur ponies have :D

Where do her scales stop? I’ve noticed you have it pretty inconsistent with some stopping at their pony half and then some going to the neck. Then patterns seem to go up their backs seemingly from scales into fur

This is from the past. (Kalienne’s mom is still pretty small here). So Luna would be on the moon and Cadence wouldn’t be around yet.
 
Still, it’s cute.  
(And I’m still pleased I inspired Badumsquish to create Reada Bella. Did a two scene comic with Kalienne ages ago. Still need to finish the other one at some point).
