He is a wandering warrior who has bound his sword to keep it sheathed. Despite being a unicorn, his level of magic is extremely low. He can only pick up and carry objects, however he is a gifted swordsman able to fight several trained warriors and was able to fight despite injuries. In the past, we called him “Strider” or “Steninel” in the ranks of the Empire Concordia
 
Although we do not see him here, Duststrife has two scars just above his tail (but we do not see him because of the wings). He seems to curse his wings because they got them after killing a squad of legionnaires attacking villagers. Since then he thinks it’s a curse for his actions and travels in order to find a solution to become as before. He himself does not know much about his life when he was a filly, only a soft music, coming from an alicorne (maybe his mother), he seems to love watching the sky at night especially during the fall of shooting stars or even the moon.
