Heyyy so proud to present that damn hick from the eqg special that everyone is yelling about bcs rares hat the hots for him.  
Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t care about the ship one way or another but a cute boy with freckles and a cowlick to the heavens just speaks to me on a personal level ¯*(ツ)*/¯
 
Soo here is my interp of eqg Ragamuffin: actually kind of a sneaky thot, he was raised poor by his coalminer dad but has big dreams of dancing ! After watching the whole thing I couldn’t get around seeing him as someone who’s not half as oblivious as he appears, he works in all sorts of odd jobs and the cruise ship is one of the easiest places to get tips, flirting with random rich ladies is the fast way into a rich womans purse. Rarity is kinda no different, she’s pretty n all but also kind of a pushy princess and while Ragamuffin doesn’t mind playing ‘fleeting vacation romance’ with her, he doesn’t cry when it doesn’t pan out either, honestly the mane6 were more trouble then they were worth, with the whole ship sinking.  
So basic synopsis: plays a cute, resourceful country hick to charm himself into tips bcs he needs the money to move up in the world.
 
Now to this pony version:  
I see Ragamuffin as a unicorn, bcs I can, I get it that the joke is that he’s an applejack clone but his bangs just invited a horn and I like the idea of a dancer magic horse.  
He still grows up with a dirt poor family and most of his childhood pictures have him caked in a hundred layers of mud, he wore his name really well back then but he’s gotten out of that, he probably lives in manehattan right now, I imagine him still doing odd jobs while trying to score some more prestigious roles in the local dance halls, his big plans are of course to become a big ol star on the stage but until he is there he works his butt off.  
His bootymark is a dirty diamond and his stage name is rough diamond (Rares line seemed to resonate with him) so, after finding out that he is a special gem born from his dirt digging family he got that cutiemark.  
Oh and don’t get me wrong, he loves his family even if he might seem a bit focused on the high life.
