I’m against both of those subreddits because it excludes other races, on the grounds of race, purely for segregation purposes. It’s not that I want to LARP on some subreddit that’s about tweets from black people, because I couldn’t care less. If you want your fridge subreddit where only tweets from black people are shown, be my guest, but the idea that the posters on there also must be black is completely absurd.
 
When things like this happen, where segregation is implemented, you will inevitably increase racial divide no matter who instigates the segregation race. If you want proof, take any group of people and then split that group based on arbitrary reasons. What will happen is one of the groups will start deciding that there must be a reason. If there’s a reason, then one of the groups must be better or worse because ability is the only basis for unexplained separation. This will then result in either group, or even both, claiming superiority. Only when the separation makes complete sense and is explained does it cause very little to no claims of superiority, which is the basis of causing divide.
 
I’ll put my job on it. At my place of work, the workforce is split into Day Crew, Night Crew, and Reset Crew. Day crew interacts with customers more than the other groups and aids in making sales, as well as managing returns. Night Crew consists of a team that primarily sets the product on the shelves and making sure the store is clean for opening in the morning. Reset Crew goes to bays and resets the bay to be accommodating to new product and removing old or discontinued product. If these specific jobs were not outlined and tasks were not split into groups to properly tackle them effectively, there would be claims among each group that accuses another group of not doing their job right more than there already are. I should know because I’m Night Crew, and a fair few people in my crew will claim that Day Crew isn’t doing their job, and MET is preventing them from doing theirs. The truth of a matter is, they’re not making the effort to complete their own tasks.
 
Segregation based on race, in any sort of space or capacity, has no reasonable explanation other than racism. It’s disgusting, and I will not sit down while this happens. All people should be judged based on their merit and ability, and there should never be a race block for any reason including a need for equal representation because that’s the bigotry of low expectations, and thus the bar needs to be lowered because someone believes one or more races just don’t get the opportunities of the other. It’s childish, lacks any understanding of people going toward their own dreams and seeking out their own goals, and denies people a spot in something because they just don’t have the right genetics. It is exactly what Adolf Hitler would be proud of, just switch the word “Aryan” with any other race.

Funny thing is, r/blackpeopletwitter just banned all ‘white people’ from their subreddit. Not sure how you figure out someone’s race from their opinions on the internet, but they’ve admitted they’re doing it just on the grounds of race.
