I think Fancy Pants is better with Fleur, I’m kinda neutral with Pokeypie, and I hate Comet Tail. The rest is fine.

BGPonies have become so popular because they’re blank canvases on which you can create a character, but also their starting theme gives you a direction to go in.
 
Also these are all bgp ships except for Raripants - and he was a one-off character with only bgp appearances after that.

Why?  
Because Comet Light has a comet as a cutie mark, therefore an astronomer-type bookish pony like Twilight, maybe?

1 and 4 are the only ones that make sense, but then there’s the fact that Dash would go for the captain of the Wonderbolts (if you know what I mean) and Fancypants has a girl already and he’s too classy to cheat.
