Random stories from the “filler” of a season [Discovery Family requests 26 episodes per year] could had happened on some of the alternate realities created by other timetraveler Starlight Glimmers (if it happened once, it can happen elsewhere).
-> But for the two-parter season openers LOADED with continuity references (& cameos like Moondancer!) the “it is not the MANE worldline” does not hold water [even less when they are presets for the finale, just like in S4].

Does not necesary change anything from the headcannon that she was NOT IN PONYVILLE when Sombra trapped the mane six.
-> It may even point out that she was somewhere in-between Ponyville & Canterlot (we should check all Canterlot scenes with sombrafied ponies just in case there are new ones that could be her parents).
Why she is with the other two CMC? -> Why is Lyra & Bonbon together when they charge against the mane six?
The answer: They are still “in there, deep down”; so they subconciously try to regroup to perform any activities as they would normally.
-> Starlight casual “verbose report” of her current “task” was her giving as much information as she could to Twilight [not because she was “aware”, but rather part of her training back when her “mentor” was also her minimum-security warden].

I’m not saying that at all. I’m simply saying that censors will use excuses like this constantly to hide what the writer was clearly getting across.
Seriously read all my comments before you assuming what I’m saying, I clearly point this out long ago. I have no problem with roommates that are really friendly, but if they are going to such routes, odds are they are more than just roommates.
You kiss your roommate on the head?…Okay, why not.
And you still aren’t reading my comments? ‘Sister Excuse’ or ‘Sister In Law Excuse’. They can say it in the canon of the book all they want but with Sailor Moon’s poor censoring as a constant reminder, it will always make certain readers see what angle they were clearly going for. These two were still played in the book as extremely close so any blind man could see the original intent no matter how you spin it.
