to me i feel like discord wants for celestia and luna to retire but why yes he offerd himself but then he helps twilight to the point where he faked being hurt so twilight can succeed but gets angry when celestia said there not ready to retire but will retire when twilight is ready
 
have you ever noted that does that seem strange why discord wanted twilight to become ruler so bad maybe he wants to be with celestia since she won’t be so busy once she retires and yes this is a celestiacord comic but it ask an interesting question
