There are cases of those everywhere on TV series. Why then, of all of those characters out there with those personalities, who also tend to be main characters or get a lot more screen time, did Derpy have to be the one to get censored?
There is a bit of a difference between “fixing a mistake” and “removing entirely”

The “censorship” argument is bullshit; she was portrayed, rather negatively, as completely incompetent and possibly retarded and needed to be changed to better suit all who watch the show. We don’t “own” Derpy/Ditzy what ever the hell you want to call her, we did not “create” her, and she is not “our” character, she’s theirs. If they want to change the way THEIR characters are portrayed then that’s their business and it is not censorship, nor is/was it our right to bitch at them about it.

I’m mostly over this, but I always correct when people call Derpy by any other name. Yeah, like that specific pony would have gotten so popular if she wasn’t noticed by fans and named by them.
