That sounds like it’d work!
@Ardashir
I can image a picture showing Cthulhu pulling all of them into a hug, which each of them showing clear signs having lost any semblance of sanity, such as frothing at the mouth, bloodshot eyes, having had cut various symbols into themselves, and gibbering incoherently. And at the bottom it says “my little Cthulhu, friendship is madness”
Edited
In Equestria? You know, that’s a good question.
What’s the difference?
In fact, Cthulhu made friends with ALL the ponies! Of course, by ‘made friends’ I mean ’reduced them to gibbering maniacs.’
Call of Cthulhu by HP Lovecraft. Not his best work IMO, but a good introduction to his work and the Cthulhu Mythos in general.
Wow, friendship really is magic… and witchcraft!
Also, Lovecraft himself was pretty openly an atheist, so he certainly wasn’t advocating blind obedience to the church.
Yes, it’s the opening paragraph of Call of Cthulhu. It’s intended as the primary statement of Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror Stories: it’s better to remain ignorant of the universe at large, and of our insignificance amidst the greater powers that barely notice or care if we exist, because knowledge of said insignificance will inevitably lead to insanity and despair.
Not one of Lovecraft’s better stories, IMHO. I personally preferred The Color Out of Space, The Dunwich Horror, and Curse of Yig.
Yes, it’s really an excerpt. It’s the opening lines from “The Call Of Cthulhu” by H.P. Lovecraft.
Edit: The only difference is, obviously, the original text says “human mind” instead of “pony mind”.
Edited because: Needed to remind people how hopelessly autistic I am
