It still baffles me that this wasn’t referenced in A Canterlot Wedding, it seemed so glaringly obvious that this was intended to be the reason Twilight didn’t get an invitation until the last minute.
This season’s episode 9 is supposedly called “Sweet and Smokey”, and involves Spike and Fluttershy traveling to the Dragon Lands. It’d be hilarious if this particular scene ends up being a plot point in that episode.
“Dear Spike, please tell Twilight to reach out to Shining Armor. I am to understand that he has something important to tell her, but it is really something that should be done face-to-face, and not via message. Best regards, Princess Celestia.”
This would be Shining telling Twilight about his engagement to Cadance. Shining assumes that his sister received the letter, but was simply too busy to reach out to him. This is why Twilight was shocked by the wedding announcement, as she was not aware that Shining was engaged, and why Shining simply rolled his eyes at her exasperation with not being told, as she had the chance to hear it from him in the first place.
Admittedly, there are holes in this little headcanon, but it’s something.
EDIT: Apparently, this is a common fan theory. In my defense, I did not join the fandom until after Season 3, so this possibility did not dawn on me when I watched the episodes the first time around.
And that Link is Spike, Ganon is Sombra, also Twilight
is aPrincessZelda, a future prediction of S3… joke.Dang it Garble.
Garble caused Changing Invasion.
Get out.
Ur mum gay
So am I. Where would Garble have ever learned to read?
That would make a lot of sense.
I doubt it will.
Given everything else going on, it could have just slipped Shining or Celestia’s minds about it.
The bombing starts in 5 minutes.
“Also, you owe me 10 bits. Shining popped the question much sooner than you said he would. I didn’t even think he had it in him!”
@Jarkes
@ArtColter
It’s possible! Even likely! But hasn’t been confirmed yet, so it’s to debate

That’s a pretty common theory.
