When one cross-dimensional immigrant’s flat was once another cross-dimensional immigrant’s flat, decades into the past and in an age where Swing was King and Booze was Banned. One of the previous occupants being a member of the Royal Guard (thought to have been given up for dead in Equestria) that ended up in the human world in the early 1920’s and taking on the guise of a private investigator. Having given up on trying to find a way back and accepting his fate.
 
more or less, I’m setting up the groundwork for a Noir-styled premise set in that universe. Something set in the 1930’s or late-1920s in the Human world and involves a Private detective and former Equestrian Royal Guard getting caught up in and working to bring down the criminal empire of a Griffon in the guise of a powerful Crime Boss while at the same time coming across former Equestrian sorcerers and conjurers in the guise of wealthy inventors, scientists and entrepreneurs who have been in the town as far back as the mid-19th century.
