“Radiant Sigil!” Twilight Sparkle shouted from outside the room.
Darn it.
Steeling herself, Ray turned around to see her mother burst into the room, holding the letter Ray had scribbled mere moments ago aloft with her magic. “What is this?!”
“A-a note,” Ray managed to stammer in response.
“I can see that,” Twilight said with an annoyed growl, “the problem is what it says.” With a sigh, twilight softens her tone before continuing. “I know that this is hard for you, but today is important to me. I don’t get to see my friends as often as I’d like anymore. This reunion will be the first time we’ve all been together in a long time. It’d mean the world to me if you went.”
Ray groaned, torn between wanting to make her mom happy and her hatred of attending social events. She had promised her mother she’d go. It’d be pretty rotten to ditch now. That didn’t stop her from wanting to do it though. Still…
“Please, Ray. For me? Surely you can put off your next adventure for just one more day.”
“Fine,” Ray sighed. This is exactly what she’d been hoping to avoid. There was no standing up to her mother when she layed on the guilt trip like this. “I guess I’ll go.”
“It’ll be fun,” Twilight said, perking up. “You’ll see. You might even make a new friend or two.”
Fat chance of that happening. At least Aurora Breeze was supposed to be going. Talking to her in real life might be weird though. Ugh. Ray was not looking forward to this.
