Description

Tree Hugger was in her kitchen embroidering another one of her good-vibes tapestries that she would hang up in Flower’s room, so she was in the zone. She hadn’t even noticed that her daughter didn’t come home at the time that she said she would.

When Flower finally did come home, she crept in silently so as not to disturb her or be noticed. But she must have closed the door a bit too loudly because Tree Hugger noticed anyway, calmly looking up from her embroidery.

“The fruit of my great willow tree! Welcome back! How was your great paternal journey?” Tree Hugger moved her hooves around as if she was doing an interpretative dance.

“Oh! It went well!” Flower smiled, a bit startled from getting caught. “How did you know I was looking for my dad? And how was your sabbatical?”

“The stars spoke to me, my little pomegranate fruit! And enough about my sabbatical!” Tree Hugger wave the question off. “I wanna hear about your pa! Did you find him? Mama’s got around quite a bit~”

“I know,” Flower rolled her eyes. “Yes and no. I still don’t know who ‘cast my seed into you’ but I did find someone to be my Papa! Do you remember Hayseed?”

Treehugger blushed a tad, something she didn’t often do. She nodded and trotted over to Flower, pulling her along to their pile of beanbag chairs so they could sit and talk. “Of course I do! He made my inner matron—er, tell me what he was like.”

“He was really nice! He may have had really weird teeth, but when I met him and told him he might be my dad he said he’d be my Papa whether we were related or not,” Flower grinned. “And he didn’t even get scared!”

Tree Hugger smiled contently at her little filly and pulled her close. “That’s nice honeysuckle, but you know we shouldn’t rush these things. Stallions can have…unpredictable vibes sometimes. Their chakras aren’t always in the right places, y’know. Would you like us to get a DNA test?”

Flower thought for a moment. “No,” she replied. “I may not know who my real dad is, but Hayseed’s my Papa now, by heart. It doesn’t matter if he’s related to me or not, I like it this way. And he doesn’t have bad vibes at all, he was actually glad to know I was your daughter! I’m sure he’d love to see you again.”

Tree Hugger’s eyes widened at this. “You really think so dearie? I kind of…left him hanging.”

“I do! He’d love to see you again! And even if you don’t marry him or date him again we can all be one happy family!”

“I’ll give it a try, Flower.”
