These creations currently reside with Traveling Pony Museum. They will be putting these on their etsy shop so I’ll drop a link here once that happens!
So I clearly cower to the mega meme band wagon- I actually started prepping these pony bases while in the middle of my previous project, cause I wanted to get these done as soon as possible while the meme is still fresh and hot. xD
Pony bases are bootleg fakie princesses from China (best kind). Booette’s was a Celestia base and Bowsette’s was a Nightmare Moon base.
Boiled them both, removed their wings, left their horns in tact. Added generation 4.5 Twilight Sparkle wings onto Booette so she’d have smaller shaped wings, added leather tongue, teeth and mouth to Booette. Bowsette got more leather horns on her head, and her reptilian tail is hand stitched in 2 pieces of leather with poseable wire inside, painted detail then stitched strips of studded vinyl accessories.
Both bases were coated in white gesso to provide texture for the acrylic paint work to bond to, then body colors and hooves/faces hand painted. All paint work sealed in Artists Varnish. Bowsette’s koopa shell is cut from a reptile print vinyl, painted in green acrylics, sealed in mod podge, then silver spikes stitched in place then a thin white leather strip lining the edge circumference.
Both their manes and Booette’s tail are rooted in nylon mlp dollyhair. Both their manes are permanently styled/hardened in hair gel method.
Colors:
Bowsette- mango tango, lemonade and peaches & cream.
Booette’s hair is white witch.
Bowsettes’s attire- the bodice of the dress is thin black faux vinyl. Train is in 3 layers- bottom layer of a sheer pale white material, muted black sheer fabric for the main piece, then darker black mesh for the side sashes. Finished her leg and neck accessories by stitching black ribbon then glued silver rhinestones to resemble studs. Added same rhinestone detail to her hoof armor.
Added white leather fangs to her mouth.
Her earrings are beads attached with floral wire. Shiny blue drop rhinestone added to her chest to match. I felt like Bowsette’s outfit was rather simple and straight forward with minimal fuss, which is why she is priced less.
Both of their Super crowns started off with the triangles cut from flashy gold vinyl, then flat gold aluminum wire glued at the bottoms. Wrapped them around large metallic magenta beads then painted the black eyes.
Booette’s attire- I can start off with saying, that Booette is priced higher than Bowsette cause I went into crazy town layering up the details on her dress and at the same time, her face and hair were a massive struggle. So she took extra time and wasn’t as straight forward for coming up with her aesthetic.
I started her dress off by attaching the bottom layer dress train, of tattered white leather. It just has holes everywhere, it is magnificent. I then got out shiny webbed white material and added another layer of shiny tatter over top and make the torso piece from same fabric. Added a few more layers of various trims throughout the train, torso and neck. Ribbon bows added to sides of torso, tail and sides of head.
Boo’s earrings are magenta beads attached by floral wire, she has a rhinestone broach to match. Added 2 strings of pearl beads on mane, strung on floral wire.
Tiny rhinestone details embellished throughout her face.
I fail to see why it would matter
