––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– It was a hot and dry walk in the exotic, but dangerous desert. Not a pony or creature or town in sight, just endless miles of sand and the constant presence of the beaming sun. The pony walking was lucky that he also had to trek under the rising moon, feeling the coolness of night take over to extinguish the heat before it could return to him. The purpose of his journey was unknown, yet he goes on. That was when a grand, but small treasure was found once tripping over what appeared to be an abandoned lamp. After looking at it and giving a good clean and rub, great magic was released.
The lamp would shake intensely, the pony struggled to hold it still. Sweet fumes burst from the lamp as sparks of light blast everywhere. Throughout the cloudy lightshow of the falling sun came what one would have seen as a goddess. A mare of curly and soft purple locks that bounced upon the slightest movement, glistening magenta that brightened upon every gaze, an orange coat that looked as creamy and silky as the most gorgeous of sunsets, and a smile that brought butterflies. The pony would have never guessed he would release a beautiful and lively genie of all things, so astounded and in awe of what was in front of him. She greeted him with a smooth exotic accent, making his hooves wobble in fluster. She patted him to focus as she told him of the rules for genies now that he released her. No killing, no making someone fall in love, no bringing anyone back from the dead, and only three wishes to grant, something to keep in mind, without a doubt.
It was quite overwhelming for the pony to process, of course. A bundle of rules, him needing to make his wishes count, and all the while enamored and in love by the magical pony before him. The pony would have to make some good wishes for sure, if learning how to marry a genie counted.
So I’ve done this scribble a while back, with Saffron Masala being a genie pony and Sketchy finding her lamp and falling for the exotic mare. I wanted to get back into it ever since, but just been busy with other doodles and ideas.
Recently, I’ve been watching Aladdin, both the animated original and live action remake (One of the better Disney remakes btw), which got my spark back into the Saffron genie idea. I redid the sketch, made the ponies look cuter, and here we are now.
More Saffron doodles to come, so look forward to those!~
This is heckin adorable!
