I just found out about the show through YouTube. I saw all these fan made videos of them and I thought to myself, if this show has so many male fans than it has to be good. Then the rest was history.

I think what really kept me watching was Twilight
 
“Ha ha. Yeah she’s right. Fuck these ponies are crazy and friendship sucks”
 
“Okay…they aren’t that bad.”
 
And then good things.
 
Also, I really hated Pinkie Pie and Rarity until Season 1 was over. But then I like them after Party of One and Dog and Pony Show, respectively.

I remember giving myself the exact same challenge when I was curious about the show.
 
“I’ll watch the first 5 minutes. I’m sure it’s terrible.”
 
“… meh… certain parts are way too cute for me to enjoy, but the characterization isn’t too bad…”
 
“… that was pretty good. I wonder if the second episode is any better? Probably not.”
 
And the rest is history.

Reminds me of my tale. Before watching it, I was actively avoiding it and almost a little afraid of it.
 
Seriously. Even the creepy nerds in the place I hung out with who had devoted waifus forever were suddenly changing it up for waifu ponies.
 
So until a friend of mine who also hadn’t watched said that if I watched it with him, he’d owe me AND promise murder suicide if we hate it.
 
So I’m like “Yeah I’ll just watch this and complain on 4chan about how gay and girly it is.”
 
Later I’m like “..FUCK! I’m on episode 8 and enjoying it!”
 
And then I was the bronies.
