That’s nice that they smell pleasant. Safhirim don’t so much…they smell oddly like petroleum or other chemicals used to make plastics. It makes sense, since much of their attack magic is fire-based. I suppose they’d have to be careful around Ontemazei.
 
Interesting you have the EqG humans as the vain and materialistic ones. For me it’s the opposite…I see them as a mostly peaceful race who are closer to their pony ancestors in spirit than the Safhirim are. Safhirim are very in love with themselves and their own culture and being superficial and vain are their worst aspects. They constantly see themselves as cuter, prettier, faster, more magical, etc. than humanity, almost like the Diamond Tiaras to humanity’s CMC. They act like upper-class suburban Americans, clueless about and often unintentionally prejudiced towards other species.
 
In my universe ponies, Safhirim and EqG humans descended from a race of angelic unicorns known as Lightmares, with the plantlike aspects coming later. Actually, I just remembered how the three races tie together in my world.
 
Winx Club and Monster high were both pre-EqG influences on the Safhirim, so you saw correctly ;)

Fire is more damaging to their bodies, and sunlight helps them heal from their illnesses or wounds faster. They also smell like fruit or flowers when they sweat.
 
The Ontemazei would view EqG people with a mix of admiration and pity: they wish that they are as free and independent as the EqG people, but they look down on the latter for being too materialistic and vain, as if they are unprepared for any disaster or invasion.
 
Although the Ontemazei Empire committed many atrocities, those did not create some kind of monster or abominable daemon. The only monsters that developed from the Ontemazei Empire were the Empire’s subjects themselves: after ten years of exposure to the toxins they used to kill off most of Jerde’s human population, the toxins cause them to mutate into fierce, walking tree-like beasts that kill and eat any being they see.
 
Safhirim look like characters from the Winx Club or Monster High.

Oh wow, so Discord’s behind their creation eh? That’s an…interesting idea. I’d hate to be them back then, if he intended to rule them with an iron fist. Still, I like that idea for a creation myth.
 
Ontemazei do sound like Safhirim. How do they differ from regular EqG people if they are also colorful plant humanoids? I sure hope they didn’t will their version of Slaanesh into existence from their brutality, if they are like Aeldari/Eldar.
 
The Safhirim were created 43,000 years ago by the Kyrdan as living weapons to use against Thanatos and his subordinate, Phreudos, who was creating bioweapons to use against the Kyrdan empires from his laboratory on Saturn’s moon Titan. Unlike other “high elf” style races they are forged specifically for combat, their wings basically making them person-sized fighter aircraft and their magic being primarily of the deadly variety. It doesn’t mean they’re not adorable though.
 
I like your design of their flag. You’ve got some really strong worldbuilding going. I watched you on dA.

Perhaps they were created as a joke by Discord, so the horse elements are mainly his additions to emphasise that Eqg!world is just another version of Equestria. He might have used random flowering plants to create the first of its inhabitants because they seemed easier to morph into humanoids and control their minds.
 
Speaking of which, I also have a similar race as your Safhirim. They are known as “Ontemazei” or “Varasozzo”, and they are mainly a race of colourful plant humanoids. Created from the harvested remains of the Arentosian race, they were originally created as slaves and toys until they rebelled against and ate their abusive makers, and after waging war against the other civilisations of a nearby Earth-like world, their enemies enslaved them again and reduced them to monsters.
 
Disgusted by the excessive carnage, barbarity, and cannibalism that brought their civilisation into ruin, some Ontemazei fled into hiding and created their own nation away from everyone else. They eventually ended their isolation when they faced more wars, so they had to find allies from nearby human nations. Furthermore, some freed Ontemazei slaves also contributed to their liberators’ societies, such as one scientist, “Radumo”, who worked on some lost alien technology.
 
The Ontemazei would probably correspond to the Eldar, but they seem to be obsessed with plants, art, and beauty. Even though they are generally wary of humans (for oppressing/torturing them), Ontemazei could work together with humans if they found it necessary or if said humans help them. Amusingly, two of their countries’ flags look like a bisexual flag.

Indeed, Khar’tessh has a very sad story, unlike Wallflower she never got a happy ending. Thanatos afflicted her with an ailment that cut off her connection to the gods and to the spirits around her, blanking her out from them and from everyone else, and causing her to become an unwilling vector of the blankness, spread by her sadness and rage that her clairvoyance, magic and ability to be scene were all taken from her.
 
She eventually takes it out on Erinyeth in a legend that is very similar to Forgotten Friendship, until the former forgives her and uses her magic to heal Khar’tessh and restore her nature magic. But in the grand ceremony where she would be crowned the best gardener in her kingdom, Sirin bashes her face in with a war hammer out of revenge for what she did to Erinyeth, to the latter’s horror. Sirin is banished from the land and reveals himself as one of Thanatos’s agents. He is a very slimy character, and he gets a very just end, even if I haven’t written it yet. But Khar’tessh was martyred and is now worshiped as a patron goddess of nature.
 

 
Very interesting fanon origin for EqG’s humanity. I seem to recall hearing about it from you before, and I may consider adopting some of it into my own crossover fanon with my own series (if that’a alright, that is.) But I am curious: how does EqG people being plants tie into them also being equine? Since an EqG human going into Equestria becomes a pony and vice-versa. Are the ponies also plant-based life forms in your world?
 
I ask, because in my own ‘verse, I have ancient magical beings called Safhirim who more or less strongly resemble EqG humans out of coincidence (they long existed before EqG came out,) except they have wings like an angel or a fairy. In my lore they are a race of magically-animated dolls created out of a plastic-like material derived from the sap and tissue of a sacred tree, sorta similar to your EqG headcanon. So in the crossovers they share a world with both ponies and EqG humans, and I want all three to be related in my works.
 
Maybe all three races are variously derived from plants, even though ponies and EqG humans are natural, but Safhirim aren’t. Plus that sorta brings to mind Orks and similar creatures being living fungus in Warhammer 40K.

Well done! Wallflower would like to read your work. Besides, all EqG humans are dryads to me, because their hair and skin look as colourful as those of flowers and leaves: and by that logic, Wallflower is closer to the DNA of her race’s plant-like ancestors.

I like how you see her as a dryad. She certainly looks like a plant, and she loves plants enough to be one.
 
I rewatched Forgotten Friendship awhile ago while currently reading the Silmarillion, and got some ideas myself. I created a mythological character called Khar’tessh the Invisible, who was a young maiden who loved gardening, and was gifted by the forest spirits to tend to their sacred garden. Eventually a green moss grew in her hair that turned her hair a beautiful green.
 
But she was tragically cursed by Thanatos (the Melkor/Lucifer-like figure in my own mythology) with a black fog that rendered her invisible to both the gods and mortals, and cut off her ability to use magic. Eventually the curse was lifted by Erinyeth the Fair (a Sunset Shimmer-like figure) but she was tragically murdered by one of Erinyeth’s wicked suitors named Sirin (inspired by rabid Sunset Shimmer fans who don’t forgive Wallflower and say insane and violent things at her.) But the spirit of Khar’tessh lives on and in my own crossovers, Wallflower Blush is the current mortal incarnation of her.
