Sombra didn’t show himself too much in S3, so his actual act outside of taking over an Empire is simply unknown.  
Hey, I wanted him to be like in the comics, you know, actually somber. Bit this works too, I guess.

This part was one of my favorite instances of how much he got to them, the despair.
 
One of the reasons Sombra was a pretty good villain is, because his MO is to break your spirit, assuming that Starlight saying that emotions affect magic is a general rule (which there’s no good reason it shouldn’t be), he literally makes his enemies weaker by doing that.

Considering King Sombra is the only stallion to have magically ‘flowing’ mane and tail,  
I can’t help but wonder if he’s the most powerful pony guy in the whole series.  
Besides possibly Starswirl.

I dunno, he was certainly a threat in his original appearance,  
and a very intimidating and badass one,  
but he didn’t get to do too much.
 
But during the s9 premiere, Sombra did so much damage,  
I don’t think I’ve ever seen all six of the mane ponies  
so sad and tired and upset for pretty much an entire episode (s09e02).
 

 
He emotionally and psychologically broke Twi & friends so much, he probably made Grogar jealous.  
Still hoping Grogar will bring him back yet again as a ‘wild card’.  
Sombra can be brought back to life just as often and easily as Dracula.

Dear Lord I was begging for him to be obliterated after I saw how the writers turned what could have been FiM darkest and most sinister villain into a bad gay joke. XP

Why would he get more screentime he got shattered forchristsakes! Not that he isn’t cool and all…

I wish Sombra had been more of a threat in these episodes. He felt SO much more intimidating in the season 3 premiere.
