“For a while” is a big distinction here. They’re a short term “solution” that can sometimes have huge negative consequences.

Exactly. The only exception to this is drugs prescribed to you by a doctor. (And even then, it’s important to keep in touch with your doctors just in case you become too dependant on them or get nasty side effects.)
