When you think about it, though, there’s more to AJ in him than you might realize. His struggle with following his dream is kinda similar to (Pony) Applejack struggling to find her place back when she was a filly - and much like Ragamuffin, she used to use a fake accent while in Manehattan - so there’s that.
I’ve also seen some complaints about Ragamuffin being a “twink”, so to say, prompting some complaints that a Rule 63!AJ should have more muscle to him, but… again, this makes perfect sense? Applejack is a relatively masculine girl, a tomboy if you would, so it makes perfect sense that a male version of him would be effeminate by contrast. XD

Aesthetically maybe. But in terms of personality and dynamics? Probably not. I haven’t seen the special where Dirk is in just yet but Ragamuffin is definately no AJ as far as his personality goes.
