Fanfics that actually explore the characters concepts that have been established through the show and out them as more than just cartoon animals. I don’t mean get into them in the sense of “extreme scientific psychology”, but rather using already-there items and manipulating them to an enjoyable outcome brainstormed by the writer of the fanfic.
My Little Dashie and Past Sins are just inserts meant to garner sympathy. From the writing style, I feel that every paragraph written wreaks of “OH PLS RELATE TO MEH” and that turns me off. These fics don’t explore; they don’t provide anything beyond a grab for reader sympathy, and that’s disappointing for a writer.
Outside of comedy writing, you want your readers to think.
@Lord Gak
im sorry for not liking a fanfic that was written purposely to be liked simply because it enabled the option to self insert oneself into the story giving it an artificially emotional concept. Seriously though, the story is really fucked up and doesnt make much sense other than to be a self insert for the attention of those who wish to want rainbow dash as a pet/companion.
Not to mention that both of them portray Celestia as the bad one.

Actually, there was an alternate ending…

And you’re a terrible human being.
