I wanted you guys to finally see the entire next gen Apple herd (at least with Big Mac and Marble Pie). So here we go!
Golden Anjou, the younger of the twins, is nearly twice as tall as his older brother (by only 3 minutes, he’ll remind you) but plays the role of gentle giant. He assists his Great-Grandpear with the new pear orchard in Sweet Apple Acres, and later continues to take care of it long after his grandparents have passed. He is far more talkative than his parents, but nowhere near as much as his twin counterpart. Golden also enjoys singing in the Ponytones, like his father before him, and tends to sing idly while he works. His talents lie in tending to both the farm and the business in Ponyville Square, and is expected to be the next head of Sweet Apple Acres.
Sweet Bee, the oldest of the twins, is as sweet as the honey he harvests. Over time, it was clear that Sweet Apples Acres needed to expand to cover the next generation’s talents and hobbies, so Big Mac and Applejack put in a couple of apiaries and a small patch of flowers (which have both since grown). Sweet Bee enjoys socializing in Ponyville Square while he works his Honey Stand, and is always willing to give ponies free samples of his newest batch of “straight-from-the-hive” honey. When he’s not working with his bees or tending to his impressive garden, Sweetie’s most likely mooning over Strawberry Sunset, the oldest of Twilight Sparkle and Tempest. It seems, with only her, he has no idea what to say.
Cloudy Cortland, the middle child, is the only daughter of Big Mac and Marble Pie. This doesn’t matter to her! She’s just as rowdy as any boy, if only to prove herself able to keep up with them. Sharing both her Great-Grandma’s green coat color and her biting quick wit, Cort isn’t someone you want to go toe-to-toe with. She’s blunt and tough, constantly showing off a new bruise or scrape from rough-housing or playing games. Her skills show off her brute force and ability to hurry through finishing a harvest, which was proven when she managed to save the rest of the produce that had to be bucked before one of the worst storms Ponyville had ever seen. She tends to brag about her skills and loves boosting her own confidence, especially since she feels like she has to show she’s just as good as any Apple stallion.
Cameo Quartz, quietly called the “odd duck of Sweet Apple Acres” by those in Ponyville, shares none of his family’s passion for farming or produce. Originally extremely bamboozled by his son’s disinterest, Big Mac tries his best to connect with Cameo but the two simply have little in common. Cameo Quartz is a huge Mama’s Boy and always goes to her for comfort or advice. His cutie mark appeared during one of their longer visits to his Grandparent’s rock farm, where his eyes seems to finally light up for the first time. He immediately wanted to know everything about their traditions and way of life. While he was helping his grandfather fix a busted wagon, Cameo’s flank began to glow and proved that his talents lay in something different than his other siblings. He wants to be a repair-pony when he’s older, and move to where his grandparents are to live a simplistic life. Big Mac doesn’t understand it, but he does his best to be excited for his son’s future.
Pippin Apple, the youngest of the bunch, was quite the surprise to the family. Planning on having Cameo be their last foal, Big Mac and Marble were shocked when she became pregnant again. Pippin was born premature and wasn’t immediately believed to survive, but Big Mac refused to give up on his child. He stayed in the hospital day and night, holding his tiny son and softly telling him about his big brothers and sister who were waiting for him at home. Pippin pulled through and after a month or two of being monitored in the hospital, finally went home with his parents to Sweet Apple Acres. He follows his father around like a shadow, wanting nothing more than to be just like him when he grows up. Pip is known to “help” his father with chores, trying his best to drag single apples through the orchard to his father’s baskets while Big Mac bucks produce like there’s no tomorrow.
