The cutie mark of Sandbar is similar to the M5, both are three repeating patterns. We all know how cutie marks make pony, so he probably won’t have a connection to the magical element like Twilight.
Sandbar’s cutie mark is similar to the Mane 5, but not Twi’s.
Post photos of them on the newspaper, pass yourself off as “Anon-a-Miss”, then make it look like one of them is Anon-A-Miss.

I feel bad for Princess Twilight.
“This here is Swift Foot! Oh, she also turned out to be totally evil, turning everypony against each other?! Well screw me then, I’m doing a crap job! Nothing I do goes right!”
I’d just chalk it up to time-savings for purposes of a comic story. Each of these little scenes, its after Swift Foot has been helping the other student for some time, so she should get an idea of sticking points, how to cater to their personality.
Also, as from the end of this issue, she planned to be here. She likely already knew enough about each to do this. You’d do your homework if you are planning to take over the world.
Well… Cozy Glow’s probing their insecurities to get them to study was somewhat more convincing than Swift Foot turning them against each other so quickly. It’s not a giant problem, though, for the sake of the story, I can accept it.
She’s using the same guile as Cozy did. I see no logical fault for them taking her points as they have. (We’re only seeing part of their conversation, it’s not like SF went up to Gallus, said one line, and then he was all upset).
