This is Apple Blaze, my Next Gen OC son of Big Mac and Bow Hothoof. (Yeah, I realize that it’s very awkward that that makes Apple Blaze both Applejack’s nephew and Rainbow Dash’s half-brother. )
 
My headcanon is that Bow Hothoof and Big Mac had a fling after one too many apple ciders, and Apple Blaze was born as a result. Both Bow and Mac feel awkward that they hooked up and don’t like to talk about it, but they still love Blaze and do a good job of co-parenting him.
 
I’m not quite sure where Windy Whistles would fit into the picture - I’d like to imagine that she passed away and Bow was a widower before he and Mac hooked up, because I just can’t imagine Bow being the type to cheat on his wife. But I’m hesitant to make that an official part of my Next Gen ‘verse, because “the female love interest dies” is a terribly cliche excuse to get two male characters in bed together.
 
 
Anyway… I imagine Apple Blaze being hotheaded (no pun intended) like Rainbow Dash, but with the strong work ethic of the Apple Family.
 
Also, at some point when they’re both grown, Blaze winds up in a relationship with one of my other Next Gen OCs, Warm Hugs (www.deviantart.com/mewstrawber…) and they start a family together. (The thought of making a Next-next gen with those two really makes me happy! )
