That could be done by anypony with a good enough reaction (or telekinesis). Or a safety net. And for treating the wounded I’m pretty sure the school have some specialised first-aid facilities. Using Dash for all this still a gross overkill.
If you think about it, if any of these girls end up falling from great heights, Rainbow (if she was paying attention) would react quickly in saving them from falling onto the hard ground and avoid concussion, and she does have knowledge of proper treatment of healing sprained injuries (e.g. wing balm)
Specify what, which pony Twi should chose for this task? As I said, since it’s not especially important or complicated, pretty much any free pony would do, even one of the students themselves. Or Snips.
Can you specify which? If not, then you’re not really winning your argument

Meh, no matter how much athleticism is involved, it’s still cheap entertainment to cover the holes in a main game and obviously unworthy of Dash’s greatness. It’s kinda strange that Dash didn’t just tell Twi to go find somepony lesser to do such a task…
What about in sports (and her horn has to be suppressed with a dampening bracelet, as mandated by Princess Celestia during the match between her students and Twilight’s students)?
Heck, Rainbow has become the worst character on this show. Period. She hasn’t shown any growth whatsoever.
Do you know how intense the sport of cheerleading can be, Vaildelot??!!
This ain’t the Olympics or the NBA, Rainbow!! This here is REAL school work and YOU gotta be a shining educational example for all the students of this university!
