Honestly her instructions to Fluttershy come across more like the instructions you would give someone on how to be an exuberant fan. And given that Fluttershy was probably the only one of her Ponyville friends she thought would be able to be there to see her and Fluttershy’s difficulties with being loud in general, that kind of instruction makes sense. And in the same vein, it makes sense that a cheer squad, that shows up and excites the crowd when the individuals competing aren’t out, is not something she would have cared about because her entire thing is about getting ponies to cheer for her.

I think the idea was, RD has no problems with folks cheering for her. It’s cheering for anyone else she hasn’t got a clue about.

And yet she had no problems instructing Fluttershy on how to cheer back in the first season.

There’s gotta be a manual on Basics 101 on Cheerleading at the school library!!
