It’s a secret…so secret even the Cakes didn’t know about it!

Think of it as the two of them individually thinking for a moment that someone saw the other person cheating on them and now their marriage is in trouble because they’ve been wronged by their lover and it’s all over the news. More than and less “Oh geeze I didn’t realize I was breaking us up” and more “omg is he/she cheating on me??”
 
A bit dark and sad but that’s how I saw it. It wouldn’t be the first “deep” joke about them either. There’s still that funny but also kind of deep and sad joke from the episode where their babies were revealed. Carrot Cake explains to the mane six why one has wings and the other has a horn because of distant relatives of theirs, but he ends it with a bit of self-doubt with the line “That makes sense, right?” and he looks a bit nervous.
 
That was an early naughty semi-adult joke from the show. It hinted he was worried that them looking different from himself was a sign that his wife was disloyal.
 
For real though I don’t think the cakes have a “bad” or shaky marriage in any serious way, I doubt they’re trying to say the two have had some problems like that in the past, like real reasons for this kind of doubt. It’s just a bit of quick funny. Semi-adult situation funny. A joke for the parents watching.

I know it’s just a joke I always thought it was weird how Mrs cake questions it like it’s actually happening

You’d think The Cakes would’ve been the first to hear about that.

This was from that episode where the CMC got mixed up in a fake news scam because their school was doing a paper press thing and Diamond Tiara demanded more “shocking” news flashes for ratings. Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle made a fake alias to spread false rumors like this one.

I don’t get it???🤨
