Not an acceptable answer. If your theory is based on the pretense of the show being not well thought out, then your ideas are equally credible. A theory that doesn’t rely on that assumption would be better, unless the writing really is worthless.
 

 
What road of experience? The other 5 of the Mane 6 had the same path of experience but followed it more competently and with less brown nosing, even the movie outright demonstrated how little Twilight cared about friendship over Celestia compared to the other, more competent 5. And clearly the other members of the Mane 6 had way more experience under their belt then someone like Cadence, so clearly the only deciding factor in becoming a princess and alicorn is simply favoritism, no qualifications at all. She only became an Alicorn because Celestia sent her a book to make her an alicorn without consulting her. And that’s cold hard fact.
 
And if Flurry is the exception, Cadence is never explained in show and the sisters never explained and now even Cozy is a magical exception, in what way is Twilight worthy of being a princess just because Celestia chose her to be an alicorn and a princess? Especially over those more worthy. Your making up rules on a subject of ONE, on a character educated her entire life to be Celestia’s hyper dependent brown noser. Subjective favoritism is not a good enough explanation even for a kids show.
 
If Flurry Heart needed no qualifications to become an alicorn, and Cozy needed no qualifications to become an alicorn, why are you assuming Twilight needed qualifications to become an alicorn? Cause Celestia said so? Celestia gave her the book that made her an alicorn. ‘Worthiness’ was just a false pretense and everyone knows it, especially now that someone got the wings n’ horns just with unworthy magic. Its not as if Celestia is the narrator, she’s not unbiased by any stretch of the imagination.

I don’t know, nothing was ever explained about BlueBlood except that he’s Celestia’s niece. Unless if there are third party archives which explains characters who was never explained in the main show.
 

 
This show was mainly made for little girls, of course only the princesses would be the characters who would represent all races. Same explanation why there are more female characters than male characters.
 

 
Then how do you explain Twilight’s road of experience and effort that granted her worthiness of becoming an alicorn yet a princess? Except Flurry Heart, most alicorns earned their wings.

Proper world building needs an explanation. All basic stories require the bare minimum effort. Shining is only a prince by marriage, but since Blueblood didn’t become a prince that way, in what way is he a prince? Don’t make up fake rules that are flimsy at best.
 
By your own explanation, Blueblood would be next in line for the throne if all the princesses dissapeared, yet he would only represent unicorns because he’s not an alicorn? Your not making any sense.
 
It seems giving someone alicornhood is simply a way to empower and keep in power whatever nepotistic nobodies the curent rules decide to pull from obscurity to maintain their vision. No actual quality is necessary.

No, rulers/princesses needs to be alicorns since they represent all the pony races they protect and rule above.

Lots of people are above average. The entirety of the main 6 have all achieved way more then whatever Cadence did to get the ‘cornhood, standing up to some backwater witch or some such nonsense in the books.
 
You don’t even have to be above average beforehand, you just have to be liked by the current rulers more then others.

Becoming a princess meaning that you step up to a higher level than average. Meaning that you get more power than the average. Being a princess requires to be an alicorn.

In other words, being a princess means nothing more then whomever in charge of the kingdom gets to decide who continues to control the kingdom. Personal whim and nothing more.

 
Being a princess requires a princess worthy deed. Being an alicorn not. Becoming an alicorn means that you just acquire a ton of power.

So basically alicornhood being only achieved by worthy princesses was just a lie? You only need a buttload of magic to evolve you?
