It’s still possible since they said G5 was in the same continuity as G4. Although probably not likely. More likely is that he shows up in the series itself (especially if it goes on for a decent amount of time).

Whats messed up is he actually didn’t intend on reforming them.  
He was actually planning on using them as cannon fodder to boost Twilight’s confidence, that’s it.  
He clearly looks like he doesn’t care on what will happen to the trio.

How is that less stupid. That’s the same thing he did in the beginning of the season. At least here the stakes were significantly raised because Twilight didn’t have her safety net this time.

Okay you know what you have been a better twist? (besides Grogar NOT being Discord)  
If they all worked together, Tirek fights the Pillars, Chrysalis fights Starlight, and they all take over equestria while Grogar sits back and enjoys it. Twilight and all of Equestria comes in to fight the three villains, and just as they are defeated the three ask for Grogar’s help only for THEN does he reveal himself to be Discord and that it was all part of his plan to boost Twilight’s confidence.
 
It’s not much of a better twist, but it would have at least been less stupid

The elements of harmony were different. He figured he had caused ebough disharmony between the mane 6 for them to not work. With the villain trio he was the one who taught them the value of working together. He pointed them in the dorecrion of thenone artifact that could stop him.

It’s your opinion, but it’s not true.
 
He’s hated nowadays by a good amount but is far from the most hated in the series.

And that’s why Discord is the most hated character of all time.

You would think Discord would have thought up a contigency plan in case something like this happened. At the very least he should have kept an eye on them. I mean seriously he sent them to get the Bell in the first place and he just expected them to follow the honour system? Not one of his finer moments.

Villains working together has always been the best way for the villains to win, even in other shows and series. It was a legitimate plan, and it worked. It’s just that it’s 100% impossible to win because of the Rainbow Blast deus ex machina powers that the protagonists will always have.
 
 
Working together and friendship does not always equal becoming a better person. Bullies can become friends, criminals can become buddies. People working together in terrible organizations or groups initially had to have a common ground and get along.
 
People here are disappointed more with the way they executed/handled it on top of brushing off Grogar and the hype of him being the main ultimate villain. I legitimately liked Discord for the majority of this season, and they didn’t do him nor the villains any justice in their writing in this finale.

Uh, we technically did? He was defeated a long time ago. Discord just made it seem like he was still alive after more than a 1000 years.
