I know this is how fans like to share their own thoughts, but… I get the feeling that it’s supposed to be an attempt to replace the Mane Six, and make the whole show to be all just about Spike, himself.
@Dominate1
The “episodes where spike was the reason Twilight succeeded” is, without doubt, a part of this “new” character development Spike got from some of the fans, themselves, since they just seemed too sensitive over his abuse and how he appeared as a simple background decoration since Season 1.
@Background Pony #3A89
Look at how many episodes there are where spike was the reason twilight succeeded, hes the glue that kept them together for so long
There were episodes such as “Canterlot Wedding” where the Mane Six, for example, stood up against thousands of Changelings and where Twilight were brave enough to face Tirek, although she got this magical boost from the other princesses to defeat him because he absorbed all energy and magic from everyone he came across to become that powerful himself.
If dragons were “stronger than ponies” or “can use magic,” she could’ve done the same thing again. Honestly, who would invade Equestria just to get your hands on more comfortable beds? And where did Garble’s hatred to ponies come from? Did one of them push him so he fell into a mud puddle and then laughed at him? Besides, any of the other remaining dragons throughout Dragonlands would’t ever agree with him on such thing about Equestria-invasion even if he did become the new dragonlord.
Spike got all credit for no reason in “The Crystal Empire” despite Twilight, from the beginning, were the one who figured out where the heart was, found the hidden passage to it, made it all the way up the stairs in light’s speed with her magic, Spike couldn’t since dragon’s can’t use magic… Twilight also risked herself failing the test that was given to her from one of Equestria’s rulers; Celestia by forcing Spike to bring the heart back when she got trapped. Shining Armor saved Spike and the heart when he clumsy fell during delivery.
Last but not least, it’s impossible and no point of having such character like Spike in the show if his origin was that he just were given to Twilight to be used as a test-object for her to get access to Celestia’s school. No evidence about where Spike came from were ever revealed. Lauren wouldn’t say that Spike’s parents “just died,” or his parents “just abandoned him,” or that he was “just left on someone’s doorstep…”
@MurtaughTheDragon
No, he’s an element of harmony in fact he’s “the” element of harmony and no he’s not just there for comic relief he actually does have actual character besides that.
Also a lot of people like myself like to see spike have something that the mane 6 have already.
I feel like spike is the guardian of the elements, we all know he will do anything to protect his friends, hence why he threw himself off the top of a castle without a second thought.
Yeah, I hope not. That would’ve been stupid.

Fixed the quote.

We don’t care if it’s not confirmed in the show. We just want to express our own thoughts about stuff that we know isn’t true.
Now please just ignore the image and just move on with your life. If you do that then I will too.
Sure, fans are free to imagine whatever they like, even though it isn’t true at all in the show.
Fans can say spike is the element of harmony if they want to stop making it seem like it’s important and just ignore this image.
He still never was mentioned as “the element of harmony”. Not even in the last season.
ANY creature throughout Equestria can laugh, be kind, loyal, generous, honest, have a friendship with any other creature.
What makes him the element of harmony is that he’s literally all six of the elements combined.
Laughter
kindness
generosity (after secret of my excess)
honesty
friendship AKA magic
and loyal
It’s seen a lot through out the series.
Sooooo the Student 6 can’t you’re saying cause they’re not ponies.
The show’s over, the last season has aired, and NO evidence that’s he’s “the element of harmony”.
Besides, MLP is based on ponies, no wonder why the show is called “My Little Pony.”
As I said, MLP is based on ponies, so THEY are the only creatures in Equestria who could have such power.
Sidekick? Comic relief? I’m guessing you didn’t watch the later seasons then! ;)
Prove it, then, if he’s “the element of harmony”.

He’s a walking nexus; he’s got all the power of the elements within him.
Unfortunately.
Yes, anyone CAN possess it…but sadly not everyone DOES. :|
