Sweetie Belle
Born as a surprise to Hondo Flanks and Cookie Crumbles, Sweetie Belle and Rarity were extreme in age difference. By the time Sweetie Belle was a toddler, her older sister had moved to Ponyville. With Rarity being old enough to take care of herself, it wasn’t uncommon for their parents to drop Sweetie off in-town for a little “sisterly bonding time” whenever Hondo and Cookie wanted to go on vacation.
Sweetie wasn’t ever too attached to her parents. They seemed to be in a stage of life past caring for a small child and were more interested in their upcoming retirements and many vacations. Seeing that her sister needed more and already had made friends, Rarity offered that Sweetie Belle could live with her in Ponyville.
Moving to Ponyville wasn’t too much of a struggle for Sweetie Belle, either. She had already made friends with Applebloom and Scootaloo, and had members of the Mane 6 assure her that they would be there for her if she needed anything.
After the Cutie Mark Crusaders got their cutie marks, they all promised to make sure to stay best friends, even if they moved away or got jobs besides being members of the CMC.
As she grew older, Sweetie Belle decided to pursue a career in vocal performance. Fortunately, Rarity was able to help her younger sister start a network of ponies who would be able to get her ahead of the game, including Sapphire Shores and Coloratura. They helped her along, recommending voice teachers and other ponies to meet.
Sweetie Belle ended up moving to Manehattan, like most in her business. Even though she’s farther away from her friends, she makes sure to visit and use spell phone potions regularly.
As a teenager (and even as a young adult), Sweetie Belle falls in love constantly. Her older sister always jokes and asks “so who’s your flavor of the month?”. She moves from one passionate fling to another, leaving a string of lovers behind her.
Applebloom
Wanting to have as large of a family as possible, Pear Butter and Bright Mac happily welcomed their third foal, Applebloom, into the world. It wasn’t long after Applebloom’s birth that her parents were lost and the youngest had to be raised by her own siblings.
Applebloom grew up fairly happy, not able to feel the same grief as her older brother and sister. She had no actual memories of her parents and felt almost guilty for missing them when she had never known them. No one ever gave her much gruff for it, especially because they had no right to tell Applebloom what she was allowed to be sad about. Instead, they gave her the comfort she needed and let her know that if they could be there, her parents would be so proud of her.
Like her other siblings (and most earth ponies in general), Applebloom inherited the tall gene. She is by no means as stocky or strong as Applejack and Big Mac, but she could easily tower over her friends if she stood up straight.
Like her cutie mark shows, Applebloom has a rather unique talent for an earth pony. She is skilled in potions, specifically in those that help plants grow quicker and produce more crops! This comes in handy in Sweet Apple Acres, especially if there’s a difficult year of harvest ahead of them. Zecora became her tutor once she received her cutie mark and taught her everything she knew.
As an adult, Applebloom lives close to Sweet Apple Acres but doesn’t stay on the farm with her family. She prefers to have her own space for her potion work and keep it away from the farm, just in case of a magical mishap. But she visits her family everyday and helps with the chores, keeping close to her family as she grows older.
Scootaloo
Born to a pony couple who could not handle raising a pegasus foal with severely undeveloped wings, Scootaloo was raised by her Auntie Lofty and her partner, Aunt Holiday. They spoiled her with love, even buying Scootaloo her well-known scooter for her birthday. The three live a few stops away from Ponyville, which is an easy commute for Scootaloo for school everyday.
Not surprisingly, Scootaloo is very self-conscious about her small wings and can get easily defensive about the topic since she has no way to hide them. All she wants is to be normal, which is why she idolizes the Wonderbolts, and Rainbow Dash, as much as she does. Scoot wants to achieve amazing things, just like her “big sister”, but struggles with the idea that she can do amazing things as a flightless pegasus.
Even as a teenager and a young adult, Scootaloo is rendered flightless. Her wings are too small to lift her body and she is covered in a small layer of down feathers, which further prevents even the most simple of pegasus tasks. However, her wings can still move her places. When she’s in a hurry, she uses one of her many sets of wheels which includes skates, scooters, and even a small wagon. Scootaloo tries her best to be positive and keep a brave face, but her condition makes her feel weak.
As her cutie mark shows, Scootaloo’s talents lie in her many means of transportation. Even without flight, she continues to be a daredevil and try new stunts as often as she can. Her talent also applies to her skill as a mechanic, where she can modify and improve her set of wheels whenever necessary.
When Scootaloo grows up, she continues her daredevil work and even forms her own small group of stunt ponies. However, unlike the Washouts, she makes sure that safety comes first. Alongside Scootaloo, her team consists of an earth pony missing a front leg, a unicorn with a twisted horn, and a deaf pegasus. When they aren’t performing, they are touring areas to inspire foals and even grown ponies to embrace who they are. When they do that, they can do anything they set their mind to!
Scootaloo regularly visits Ponyville whenever she has the time, and brings along her team to spend time with her friends and family. If she’s not visiting Ponyville, it’s not too uncommon for Scoot to bring her teammates to Mount Eris to spend time underwater with her boyfriend Terramar and his family.
