I haven’t watched any recent spoilers, but I don’t see what’s wrong with poking fun at the series potentially going in a direction parts of the fandom may not like and Lauren Faust may not have taken it.

Well boo hoo hoo. She will probably stay alicornized until the end of the episode, everything in the end will return to normal. This should only maybe give us some more backstories on alicorns, which I welcome.
