I noticed that AJ was accessorizing, and that granny smith was noticeably absent, but I didn’t connect the two.
 
Figuring this was ~15+ years, (I assumed ~30 based on Spike & Twi’s growth spurts, and everyone else having eye wrinkles) so I was morbidly scanning the acres backgrounds for a ‘special patch’ or memorial of Granny.
 
MLP loves doing subtle nods for the grownups.  
Oh, and I think the grey one could be Winona(gone grey). Her pups are almost as big as she is.

Sugar Belle hasn’t aged well though.

Also that moment when you see Winona’s puppies but you don’t see Winona. T_T

This was sad to look at…epspially since Old Applejack is wearing Granny Smith’s scarf.
 
My theory is that she got too old and passed away.

Realizing who AJ’s and Apple Bloom’s scarfs belong to was arguably more emotional (for me) than the finale itself.
