“Novo is upset about things that happened in the past. How her kingdom crumbled before her eyes. How her husband died at the hands of the Storm King. How she and her kingdom had to hide under the waves in order to evade the Storm King’s army. How she had to resume so much responsibly on both herself and her daughter. And how her overprotective nature nearly costed her and her kingdom a key ally while under the waves.  
Celestia, being the kind and compassionate friend that she is, came over to comfort her, knowing the burdens of leadership and the loss of a loved one.  
‘I am so sorry, Novo. I know exactly what you been through.’  
‘The only difference is that you at least got to see your sister again…’ Novo replied, unable to hold back the tears.  
Celestia spread her wing and hugged Novo tight, comforting her closest friend, and Novo began to feel much better. While it won’t necessarily heal the pains of the past, she is grateful that she has a caring friend like Celestia to help her at ease.

Decided to add a little story to this one. I tend to think that the death of her husband by the Storm King was the trigger for Novo’s overprotective nature. But she and Celie have been friends for a long time, and I think in the events after the movie, she helped Novo out with restoring the Hippogriffs to their former glory, as well as additional moral support during the rough times. “
