If you were to go to an animation conference and ask as many well known content creators as you can how many seasons they think My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has had.
@northern haste
Actually, plenty. About 20% (hehe) or more of the film have MLP references. I don’t want to spoil you most of them, but the kids and the smokejumpers watch some episodes together, one of the adults explain stuff from the show (he isn’t a brony but knows a lot about of cartoons, one of the smokejumpers ended loving the show and even explain why the gave Cena a shirt with Celestia in it. The party scene isn’t the only one in the movie with MLP references.
One problem with your comment I never mentioned mainstream media. I’m talking about online reviewers and more importantly people who make a “job” of covering all things animation.
@Epicalaxy Master
There’s a little more than that in a new trailer, looks like one of the kid characters is obsessed with pony and John Leguizamo’s character knows a lot about the show. Not much more though.
After Weird Al made joking tweets about (good clean married) horse sex, you can’t say mainstream media is totally unaware of pony’s influence even at this late stage.
Anyway, Andre’s feelings about the Cats trailer mirror my own; amused interest and anticipation rather than disgust and horror.

I wish they did talk about it too, there’s more to animation than just Star vs., Steven Universe and Gravity Falls.
Exactly. Honestly I find it a bit odd. Especially if you look at at it from a politics angle.
But channels like Roundtable are likely the type of individuals to never explain there reasons or consider changing their minds.
Well, The Roundtable never talks about MLP…

From what I can gather, John Cena wears a Celestia shirt for like a minute and strips it off. That’s it
So I don’t think he has any interest in remotely acknowledging any facts regarding the series.
