It poses an interesting hurdle for the Cakes…who are both Earth Pones but have a pegasus son. I can see Rainbow Dash & Fluttershy coming over to teach them how to preen him…

GAAH I feel the same way, I love preening pics for that reason, it seems intimate enough that it’s something that would be done by really close friends or lovers (or parents to their children like you mentioned) but it’s not quite considered a PDA, at least to those with wings
I figure it must be a bonding activity amongst winged creatures, like grooming is for chimpanzees.
Its just that the non-winged races might… get the wrong idea when you do it in public
