The “Mane 6” characters fans fell in love with in MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC are back with all-new character design inspired by chibi-style animation. The MY LITTLE PONY: PONY LIFE series launches next year with all-new content premiering on Discovery Family and Discovery Family GO and short form content on the MY LITTLE PONY YouTube channel. MY LITTLE PONY: PONY LIFE features the same voice actors who made the Mane 6 famous in MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC.
The new look for the franchise kicks off this winter with an exciting product line featuring toys designed to Reveal the Magic of Friendship with the comical characters and mysterious potions that are featured in the animated series. The new line dials up the magic experiences more than ever before with magical potion surprise, magic growing hair, magic color reveal hair, and more! Each product can reveal even more magic with a special potion bottle to unbox in every package. Amazon will be the first to debut select new products on November 13. Additional MY LITTLE PONY: PONY LIFE product will start hitting shelves at select retailers in December – just in time for the holidays. Toys “R” Us will be the exclusive destination for the MY LITTLE PONY Magic Potion line in Canada in 2020.
“We are thrilled to reveal a new, magical chapter for the MY LITTLE PONY franchise – and it’s funnier, sweeter and warmer than ever!” says Samantha Lomow, President, Hasbro Entertainment Brands. “Our magical MY LITTLE PONY makeover is inspired by our fans who are looking for more ways to experience their favorite characters from the MY LITTLE PONY world. We are also bringing the magic to life with all new ways to play so our fans can experience the magic through engaging new products. We hope fans of all ages will enjoy exploring a fun new side of friendship and all the new story magic MY LITTLE PONY: PONY LIFE has to offer as we gear up for the launch of the all new MY LITTLE PONY movie from Paramount on September 24, 2021.”
The new MY LITTLE PONY: PONY LIFE show looks at the funny side of friendship. The new center of the world is Sugarcube Corner – just like going to a friend’s house after school, this is our ponies’ home away from home. Here, Pinkie Pie serves up frosted cupcakes to the best customers in the world— her friends! PONY LIFE episodes feature hilarious, “SLICE OF LIFE” stories that modern kids can relate to. The series is LOADED with magic, including a mysterious source of potions that Pinkie keeps hidden behind the bakery counter and breaks out when the need arises.
I liked his art, but I never respected his elitist views on cartoons, thinking he was the greatest, and that any cartoons he didn’t make were shit. Plus he was apparently a bully to his animators.
Thankfully I can still like Ren and Stimpy, because he only worked on a few episodes before quitting, and I started watching Nicktoons in early 1994 after he left. In fact I heard some say the episode Stimpy’s Cartoon Show was a backlash against John’s treatment of the other animators, in how Ren acted in that episode.
In fact, his hatred of the new shows have given me an increased tolerance for at least the higher-quality CalArts shows like Steven Universe and Star Vs. The Forces of Evil. Because I’d rather not associate with such a toxic person.
Here, read the comments to see why that’s a dumb meme.

John K is not just a creep, he’s historically an asshole too.
It is a good way to describe it, can’t argue with that. Before the whole John K. thing I have a friend who feels the need to correct me every time I use that term because it bothers him that most of those shows were not made by animators who went to CalArts, and many animators who did go there went on to make shows that look nothing like SU. He has autism, as do I.
I’m going to have to agree with you that it’s a good descriptive name for that whole style, since he has a history of nitpicking my posts and policing what I say and do on the internet because he’s that curious about my life, then lecturing me on Skype if he finds something he disagrees with, in hopes he will eliminate my opinion that does not match his. He’s a great guy when he isn’t being toxic and demanding, but my god.
So…yeah. Maybe I should stick with calling it CalArts after all. Since it’s not like another term will come along that describes this whole thin-lined, bean-mouthed 2010s cartoon aesthetic quite as well.
It’s a good way to describe it, I confess. Kinda sad the animation industry is full of creeps like John K.

It’s a style, yes, and it’s not a very good one yes, but personally I stopped using the term “CalArts” to describe it since John K. made that term up, and he happens to be a total creep most people would not want to associate with nowadays. I just call it the “SU copycat style.”
You say as if Steven Universe was bad (no, it isn’t and I think that everybody who thinks otherwise is a bit wrong). Anyway, the series done in the so-called “Calarts style” are still successful! Complaining won’t lead to anything.
Holy shit, you are right, that SU meme years back was a warning, But we didn’t Listen, WE DIDN”T LISTEN.
And I am serious here. They say “Inspired by Chibi Animation” yeah right, The chibi figures from ‘We Love Fine’ look way better and it doesn’t scream of the same thoughtless care that was G3.5. Someone give me a pillow because I need to scream.
is this even supposed to actually be airing on TV or are these just digital shorts to promote the new toy line, because either way the overreactions and meltdowns people are having just because they’re judging a book by its cover (sounds familiar) is getting silly
But EQG had Sunset, the perfect character. This doesn’t even have Trixie, soooo
But real talk, we should all just wait and see. Haven’t even seen a clip of the show yet, just some odd toy commercial with swearing =/
oh ye of little faith
EqG already did it, also don’t forget the original Equestria Girls/California Girls song
Edited
Bonus points if every other thing they say is a dated social media meme or they start dabbing and.or twerking or doing the floss. Or if they make emoji faces.
There are so many ways to fuck this up even more, and I have the bad feeling they’ll do all of it.
They are using the original voice actors, who, you know, are women who sound like women.
Don’t be too sure, we haven’t heard them talk yet.
THIS HAPPENED
Well it could be worse. At least they’re still female ponies. They could be androgynous chubby brown people with pastel-colored undercuts and over 9000 genders.
