Rainbow Dash as Darth Maul, first in a series of Ponies as Star Wars Villains, there’s one for each movie (in case you were wondering why I started with the shit movie).

Not my best work by a long shot, but whatever. It was a quick one.

The Phantom Menace is not a good movie… at all… but it has a few high points.

1. Podracing is a really cool idea (even if it took way too long)
2. Liam Neeson is always awesome (even if his character fucked over the universe big time by miscalling that prophesy thing)
3. Darth Maul

People bitch about all the special effects and over done choreography, but honestly a lot of love and attention went into the visual design of The Phantom Menace, especially Darth Maul and his Lightsaber fight with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. Sadly he didn’t get any actual characterization beyond “evil henchman” in the movie, but his return in The Cone Wars more than made up for that… until Disney pulled the plug anyway (though I read the Darth Maul comic they made from the canceled episode scripts, he was kinda lame in it… so maybe it was for the best he went out on a high note)
