Could be a possibility but one major flaw in that theory is that both G.Ponyta and Rapidash can only learn one fire type move, Mystic Fire.

I’ve always assumed it was either cotten candy or something like stardust.
I have one theory where G.Ponytas mane is a magical aura that surounds it as it couldn’t contain all of its power in one body, so they let it flow around and on them for style and as a backup source and when needed, use that excess magic for attacks.
If regular Ponyta have flames, what is galaarian Ponyta made of ?
I always thought that Jolteon could ‘control’ his spikes as in it could harden them when attacking or discharging eletricity.
It’s similar to ponyta and how they can control their flames to not burn people.
I’m sure trainers who own Jolteons find ways to cuddle.
