A long flat box appeared before Twilight. She opened it to reveal a doll, old and raggy, but still in a good shape and onviously taken care of.
 
‘This, Sweetie, is my Smarty Pants. I owned her since I was a filly, see. Of course, sometimes she needed a little patching. And sometimes she has  
required some work on her hair, new buttons, a little refreshing of the colors. . . but  
is she not still my best friend from my childhood? And because she has changed gently over time, it  
is still a pretty cute doll, y’know. Pretty good.’
 
Twilight pointed at the bear in Sweetie’s arms.
 
‘This bear will become, in time, a filly’s favorite childhood toy,’ the unicorn said. ‘And no doubt over the years she will need a new leg or a new new pair of eyes, and the pacthes on her coat will change in line with fashion, but she will always be, in every detail and respect, the toy you have received today. And because it’ll change with the times, it’ll always be fuzzy.’

Only dogs will be able to hear what she’s saying.
